Happy Lebanese Independence Day
While we're celebrating Thanksgiving today, LL has informed me that tomorrow is also Lebanese Independence Day. Lebanon declared its independence from France 64 years ago, on November 23, 1943.
I don't know what the customary celebrations for the day entail. I have visions of revelers firing guns into the air and hurling handfuls of shanklish at one another. Plastic surgeons may be giving deep discounts today (certain body augmentations have become even more popular in Lebanon than they have here, I'm told). Collagen injections for everybody!
I'm sure that once LL sees what I've written here, I'll be getting a lesson on Lebanese Independence Day during the drive to New York. Maybe a kick in the ass, too.
