Invisible Chitin
The mail has been delivered and the chitin I ordered hasn't arrived yet. I've been waiting for it all week. I got my primers, which is nice but rather useless until I can make colloidal chitin agar upon which to plate chitinase-producing microorganisms. No chitin = no colloidal chitin = no chitin agar = blah, what good are Pchi2 and PchiR?
The chitin I ordered is practical grade, made from crab shells. Just wait... I'll wind up with a bushel basket of live crabs and a protocol for refining the polymer out of 'em.
