Just a Sunset
I was on the deck speaking by phone with Todabrilla when I looked up and saw this:
Not long ago, John McCain said something about "seeing the hand of God" in a sunset. I don't see such a hand in a sunset any more than I do in a lump of coal, and don't need to. It's awesome all by itself without ascribing it some divine property. It just is, and it is just beautiful, and that's all there is to it.
