Things Not to Read About Immediately After Lunch

There are many things best not read or even thought about immediately after eating. High atop this list for me at the moment is Dracunculus medinensis, commonly known as the guinea worm. It's a lovely parasitic nematode that... well... if you care to look at this photo, you'll get the point.

Urgh.

At least I won't need to eat for the next day or two. It's unbelievable that there are still people in this world without reliable access to clean water so as to prevent this sort of horror from becoming part of everyday life.
